Logo: Krasków Castle

There is a castle in Krasków. It is built on grounds that fascinated people since the early days of mankind. The Celts choose the place to celebrate their magic rituals by the majestic stone - since this time the place kept the energy and it is not a coincidence that the history of the "Bistrzyca" valley is enriched by myth and stories over centuries. Even before 1250 there was an estate, which later was reconstructed into a moated castle which was completely destroyed by The Thirty Year’s War but was rebuild into a majestic moated castle again and lasted until it was devastated by fire. 1746 the Count David Sigismund von Zedlitz und Leipe assigned a very famous master builder: Fischer von Erlach the younger created one of the most beautifully Rococo castles in Europe.

The gorgeous Krasków Castle hosted artists, writers and scientists like Goethe, Hermann Hesse and Erich Kästner but after 1945 it fell into ruins. But then, it must have been faith; in 1992 the Austrian fine art dealer Thomas Gamperl came to Krasków. In the shadow of the ruins he felt the tremendous power of this place. He decided - against great odds –to raise the phoenix from the ashes. He created one of the most beautiful Castle hotels in Europe. The wonderful surroundings, the inspiring atmosphere also pays tribute to the magic of this place
